Sportsman’s Warehouse has opened in Murrieta, the second for the company in the Inland Empire.
The 24,000-square-foot store at 25070 Madison Ave. offers a wide variety of gear, apparel and footwear for fans of the great outdoors. The retailer sells gear for everything ranging from hunting to shooting, camping, fishing and boating. The store manager is Cameron Wales.
Sportsman’s Warehouse also will host a variety of special events, classes, seminars and expert presentations.
The Midvale, Utah-based company was founded in 1986 and opened another Inland Empire store last October in Corona.
Indio casino is hiring
Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, owned by the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, is looking to fill some 75 positions in Indio.
The casino held a hiring fair July 8 but is still seeking employees for positions in food and beverage, public safety, finance, table games, hotel roles and marketing.
Fantasy Springs offers benefit packages that include paid time off, tuition reimbursement, 401K, employee assistance program, and an employee referral program that pays up to $500.
Big birthday for Tolar
Tolar Manufacturing Co. in Corona is celebrating 30 years of business.
Founded in 1991 by Gary Tolar, the company designs and builds bus shelters, rail stations, and other outdoor furniture. Tolar started with five employees and now says it employs more than 50 workers who range from engineers to sales and administrative staff.
The company operates out of a 53,000 square foot facility in Corona and in peak periods produces some 125 shelters a month.
How did Tolar find his way to success?
“Look for a job that you don’t even care if you didn’t get paid to do,” he said. “The job that gives you that fire in your belly, because you just love it so much.”
If he could back to the beginning, Tolar said he’d prepare himself for a long ride and that it wouldn’t always be easy.
“But always give your best quality work to your customers, because if you don’t, they won’t come back.”
Fontana shopping center sold
Heritage Crossings, a retail center at 7470 Cherry Ave. in Fontana, has been sold for $7.6 million, according to SRS Real Estate Partners.
Built in 2008, the fully leased 16,273-square-foot center on 2.85 acres includes 7-Eleven, Boston Market, Subway and Little’s Caesars Pizza.
John Redfield and Chris Tramontano with SRS Real Estate Partners’ National Net Lease Group represented the seller, an unidentified development firm. The buyer, an unidentified investor who was in a 1031 exchange, was represented by Jigar Shah from Century 21 Discovery.
“This unanchored strip center in a dense infill location of San Bernardino County has had a historically high occupancy rate. This is the first time it has been on the market since it was developed by the seller 13 years ago. The property performed well in 2020 and through 2021, which created strong buyer demand and helped support the underwriting and purchase for the buyer,” said Redfield.
“We’ve seen a tremendous increase in demand for well-located multi-tenant strip centers consisting of essential business-based retail tenants like those located within Heritage Crossing,” said Tramontano. “The new Little Creasers and Boston Market leases recently signed were a testament to the strength of the location and were attractive to the new ownership as they create future stability and customer draw.”
Judicial appointments
Riverside resident Aruna P. Rodrigo, 40, has been appointed to serve as a judge in the San Bernardino County Superior Court. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Raymond L. Haight. Rodrigo’s been a sole practitioner since 2010 and previously was senior attorney and of counsel at CKB Vienna LLP from 2015 to 2018. He also served as a volunteer deputy district attorney at the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office in 2015. Rodrigo is a Democrat.
Redlands resident Kawika Smith, 61, has been appointed to serve as a judge in the San Bernardino County Superior Court. He has served as supervising deputy public defender at the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office since 2014, where he has served as a Deputy Public Defender since 1995. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Western State University, College of Law. Smith fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Keith D. Davis. He is a Democrat.
Yorba Linda resident Mark E. Singerton, 46, has been appointed to serve as a judge in the Riverside County Superior Court. He has served as managing-supervising deputy district attorney at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office since 2008, where he has served as a Deputy District Attorney since 2001. Singerton fills the vacancy of a new position created on Sept. 24, 2019 and is registered without party preference.
