Ice cream shop and ramen restaurant are the latest tenants revealed for the Poncey-Highland development.
Old Fourth Ward’s Queen of Cream and Los Angeles-based franchise Jinya Ramen Bar are the latest tenants slated to join The Plaza on Ponce in 2019.
“We are excited as this will be out first solo venture after our first location,” Cora Cotrim, Queen of Cream’s owner, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email Wednesday.
“Although it’s small, we are hoping to utilize the space to its full potential with some indoor seating. We are also hoping the development will have the patio done by summertime.”
The 556-square-foot Queen of Cream will neighbor Insomnia Cookies.
It is one of three locations planned in 2019 for the ice cream shop.
Cotrim has a partnership with Revelator Coffee where Queen of Cream is sharing space with the coffee shop in Buckhead’s Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza malls.
Jinya Ramen Bar, which has two existing Atlanta locations (and a third on the way), will open at 676 North Highland in the back of the complex, occupying suites 3 A, B, and C, a representative for the restaurant’s parent company Labrea Dining told WNA over the phone Wednesday.
She would not disclose the franchise.
Both businesses will join two previously-announced restaurants in the development from Chef Joy Ward—Southern Belle and Georgia Boy.
Burn Studios is also opening its newest fitness facility there.
The Plaza on Ponce, home to the historic Plaza Theatre and the Majestic Diner, is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and remerchandising effort under new ownership.
“We love this iconic center and we are working hard to bring new and interesting concepts to the neighborhood,” Adrienne Crawford, vice president at SRS Real Estate Partners, the firm handling leasing, told WNA in an email.h
