Images: Next brewery near Atlanta BeltLine wraps building conversion

Even younger millennials of Atlanta can probably recall the days when having a local beer meant having basically two choices: SweetWater or Red Brick Brewing.

The latest proof that times have drastically changed is taking shape in the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue, where the next local brewery located directly on or within a few blocks of the BeltLine corridor will be located, joining a half-dozen others that have popped up in recent years.

Biggerstaff Brewing Company has ramped up hiring efforts in recent days to staff its 5,800-square-foot, adaptive-reuse space at 521 Edgewood Avenue.

The brewery building—formerly McCullough Electric Motor Service, a welder’s shop—is located about four blocks west of the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. The renovation project is part of broader efforts by Krog Street Market owners Asana Partners and SRS Real Estate Partners to revive several former industrial buildings along Edgewood Avenue.
