Representation of Kings Crossing in Fairfield

Press release

(Fairfield, Connecticut) February 23, 2010 – SRS Real Estate Partners is pleased to announce their latest landlord representation assignment for a new 86,000 sf retail development by Summit Development, LLC.

Kings Crossing, located at Kings Highway (Route 1) and US I-95 in Fairfield, Connecticut has broken ground and is currently under construction, with an expected opening in Spring, 2011. Signed tenants include a 45,000 sf Whole Foods Market and a 14,000 sf CVS/pharmacy. Other tenants will include convenience and service retailers who intend to reach the many commuters and shoppers who will converge on the center.

Kings Crossing is located adjacent to the new Fairfield, Connecticut Metro North train station and a freestanding The Home Depot. The location was formerly a Hardy & Harman industrial site, and is being repurposed for retail use.

Patrick A. Smith, executive vice president and principal, and Christa Minogue, senior associate, of SRS Real Estate Partners have been retained to lease the remaining 22,000 sf multi-tenant retail space.

“It is very rare that a ground-up new center is built in this space-starved region,” said Patrick. “This is a great example of industrial re-use which will become an attractive new lifestyle center. And with the location adjacent to the new train station and a major north-south thoroughfare, the access for commuters and the community couldn’t be better.”

“We are proud to bring this Whole Foods anchored shopping center to Fairfield. Our project will complete the linkage to Fairfield’s new train station,” said Felix T. Charney, principal of Summit Development LLC, the project developer.
