Colliers International sponsored the House of Blues Red Cross Bash this summer to raise awareness and funds for the Red Cross. Colliers EVP Mary Stoner Yost, left, with American Red Cross North Texas CEO T.D. Smyers and SRS Real Estate Partners senior marketing coordinator Caroline Hurley, spearheads the Colliers initiative. She’s also the Red Cross Tiffany Circle co-chair and mentors Caroline in her new role as the Red Cross Young Professionals Auxiliary prez. Mary tells us the Piper the Puppy project is a personal fave: giving a stuffed dog to a child experiencing a disaster provides comfort to a child who has lost everything, she says. Colliers employees will create emergency hygiene kits this month for the Red Cross and participate in the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

The newly formed American Red Cross YPA consists of professionals ages 21 to 30 looking for unique networking, service, and social opportunities. The group is hosting its kick-off event at 6:30 pm tonight at St. Ann’s Restaurant and Bar on Harwood in Uptown. Your ticket: a special YPA membership rate (and tax deductible gift) of $65. Here are some of the YPA board members: SRS’ Jack Burgher, Stream Realty’s Blair Flowers, Caroline, CASE Commercial’s Holt Martin, and Retail Street Advisors’ Austin Edrington. (Other members not pictured, Merriman & Associates’ Skyler Baty, JLL’s Lauren Zimmer, and Colliers’ Clayton Thomas.) Caroline tells us her service started young, beginning with her mom in the National Charity League Heritage Oaks Chapter in Los Gatos, Calif., where one of their projects was assembling comfort kits for the Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter.
