Tropical Smoothie Café and Qdoba Mexican Eats are coming to the new 5th & 20th building at 2001 5th Avenue South in Birmingham, Ala. This location is easily accessible on foot to UAB employees, students, and medical residents as well as Birmingham’s Central Business District.
Tropical Smoothie Café will be occupying a 1,774-square-foot in-line space. Born on a Beach™ in 1997, Tropical Smoothie Café is a fast-casual restaurant offering healthy eating options including fresh, made-to-order smoothies, wraps, sandwiches, and flatbreads. The new location in the UAB area of Birmingham will be Tropical Smoothie Café’s first location in the downtown area and their 8th café in Alabama.
Qdoba Mexican Eats will be occupying a 2,355-square-foot end cap space. Qdoba is a fast-casual restaurant serving freshly made, flavorful Mexican-inspired cuisine made with quality ingredients and craftsmanship. Founded in 1995, this will be Qdoba’s 750th US location and the only location in Alabama. In 2021, Qdoba Mexican Eats was voted USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards “Best Fast Casual Restaurant” for the third year in a row.
