SRS Real Estate Partners’ Retail @ Bryant Park Team Awarded Most Significant Retail Deal of the Year

DALLAS (June 16, 2015) – SRS Real Estate Partners is happy to announce that Retail @ Bryant Park has been awarded The Most Significant Retail Deal of the Year by the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). Last week, REBNY held its Retail Deal of the Year Awards recognizing the most creative and significant New York City retail deals for 2014. The Retail @ Bryant Park team includes SRS New York’s Patrick A. Smith, Mark Kapnick, Corey Zolcinski, Matt J. Ogle and Erin Grace.

Retail @ Bryant Park was chosen as The Most Significant Retail Deal of the Year for the submission titled “Redefining Bryant Park: The Creation of a New Retail District — 3 Bryant Park, 5 Bryant Park and 120 West 42nd Street.” The Retail @ Bryant Park project presented the New York team with a unique opportunity to lease the retail component of three buildings that border the northwest corner of Bryant Park. With almost 160,000 square feet of retail space between the three buildings and dominant frontage on Bryant Park, the opportunity was amazing, but not without significant hurdles. The award submission details the team’s creative strategies that include a merchandising plan, use-specific marketing materials, and successful industry party with entertainment and artwork provided by ArtBattles to help raise awareness and improve the streetscape. The award submission also notes that the team secured significant retailers for the project such as Whole Foods Market, Tourneau, Citibank, Asics and SoulCycle. The project beat out 15 other entries that represented some of the largest and most out-of-the-box transactions conducted in the City of New York in 2014.
