SRS Real Estate Partners has expanded its South Texas footprint with the opening of a new office in Brownsville, Texas, further strengthening the firm’s retail platform in the rapidly growing Rio Grande Valley. In conjunction with the office opening, Louie Tijerina has joined the firm as Vice President, Retail.
Based in the new Brownsville office, Tijerina will focus on landlord and tenant representation throughout the Rio Grande Valley. He joins the team led by Webb Sellers, Executive Vice President and Managing Principal for Austin, San Antonio, and South Texas.
“The Rio Grande Valley continues to see meaningful retail growth driven by population gains, cross-border commerce, and increased national retailer interest,” said Sellers. “Opening a dedicated Brownsville office allows us to stay closer to market movement and increases the win potential for our clients, and Louie is the right person to help lead that effort. His deep local roots combined with institutional brokerage experience make him a strong asset as we expand our presence in South Texas.”
A proud fifth-generation Brownsville native, Tijerina brings a blend of local market knowledge and major-market experience to SRS. He began his commercial real estate career with Hopkins Commercial Real Estate in Dallas, where he gained hands-on experience in landlord leasing and project marketing. Prior to joining SRS, Tijerina spent nine years with CBRE in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex while also working on assignments along the Texas border region. In 2020, he returned to Brownsville to serve the growing market he has always called home.
Tijerina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Management from Texas Christian University, where he was also a Division I track and cross-country athlete. He is actively involved in the community and serves on the boards of the Cameron County Housing Finance Corporation and the Valley Zoological Society.
