One theme stood out at this year’s ICSC@Florida convention: fitness and wellness are driving some of the biggest moves in retail.
SRS’ Jason Kaiser, CCIM, SVP and Co-Market Leader in Orlando, shared how the landscape has shifted: gyms, once considered undesirable tenants, are now prime co-tenants for grocery-anchored centers.
His recent deal with Tyler McRae bringing EōS Fitness to Colonial Plaza alongside Sprouts Farmers Market is a clear example of how wellness-focused brands are transforming shopping centers and the customer experience.
“We’re seeing a whole lifestyle change. The same customer working out three to four times a week is also shopping at grocers for healthy eating,” Kaiser said.
