DALLAS – SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS) recently held a donation drive for the American Red Cross – North Texas Region to help families affected by the DFW Metroplex tornadoes. For two weeks, SRS partnered with Cypress Equities companies* to collect items most needed by the families who lost or were displaced from their homes following the storms. Employees donated flip-flops, children’s t-shirts, and comfort care kit items including disposable razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soaps, body lotion, shampoo, deodorant, facial tissue, terry washcloths and combs. In total, the donations were valued at more than $400.
Caroline Hurley, senior marketing coordinator for the Dallas office, delivered the donations to the American Red Cross – North Texas Region headquarters on Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas. While at the center, Hurley assisted in sorting the donations.
“When the tornadoes unexpectedly hit the DFW Metroplex on April 3, the entire SRS Dallas team wanted to come together to help local families,” said Frank Bullock, executive vice president and market leader for the Dallas office. “By getting in touch with the American Red Cross – North Texas Region, SRS was able to provide families with many essential items such as toiletries and clothing. We are glad to be able to help our neighbors during this difficult time.”
SRS employees participate in numerous community service programs in each of the nationwide offices throughout the year. For the Dallas office as well as SRS corporate headquarters, the donation drive for the American Red Cross – North Texas Region tornado relief provides employees with an opportunity to demonstrate teamwork and to give back to the community in which they work.
