SRS Real Estate Partners Awarded Five New Properties in Georgia

ATLANTA (February 7, 2012) – SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS) announced today that the project leasing team in Atlanta has been awarded five new properties to its portfolio. Four of the projects are in the Metro Atlanta area and one is located along the Georgia coast on St. Simons Island. The five centers are Creekside Station in Hiram, Ga.; Newpoint Marketplace in Lawrenceville, Ga.; Friendship Springs Village in Braselton; Ga.; Howell Mill Shops in Atlanta, Ga.; and Retreat Village on St. Simon’s Island. 

Creekside Station is a 33 acre planned retail development in Hiram at the intersection of Highway 278 and the newly expanded East Hiram Parkway. The center will consist of anchors, junior boxes, shop space and outparcels. The center is being developed by Birmingham, Alabama based Fairway Investments, who also owns the 47,000-square-foot Poplar Square Shopping Center across Highway 278.  The SRS Atlanta project leasing team handles the entire Atlanta portfolio for Fairway Investments.

Newpoint Marketplace is an 8 acre site in Gwinnett County at the intersection of Interstate 85 and Duluth Highway (Hwy 120). The property has signalized interstate access to both north and south routes. It is zoned for restaurants, hotel, and other outparcel and retail users. The land is owned by Atlanta-based developers, Abernathy & Timberlake.

Friendship Springs Village is a new, 72,000-square-foot Publix anchored shopping center.  It is located at Friendship Springs Road and Spout Springs Road in Braselton. Co-tenants include AT&T, Jones Smiles, Bi-Ba’s Italian, Posh Nails and Pizza Hut. The developer is Halvorsen Holdings based out of Boca Raton, Florida.

Howell Mill Shops, owned by Atlanta’s Healey Weatherholtz Properties, is an 8,000-square-foot multi-tenant building on the corner of Howell Mill Road and Collier Road. Healey Weatherholtz also owns 7 acres across the street with plans to redevelop into boutique shops and local restaurants.

Retreat Village is a 108,000-square-foot shopping center on one of the premier vacation destinations on the Georgia coastline, St. Simon’s Island.  The shopping center is located on the southwest corner of Demere Road and Frederica Road and is anchored by Winn-Dixie.  Atlanta-based developer, Pace Properties, Inc., is currently remerchandising and redeveloping this prominent center.
