Los Vaqueros to open near TCU

The shuttered Old Rips restaurant space on Berry Street in Fort Worth soon will see new life as plans were announced to open a Los Vaqueros at the location near Texas Christian University.Cisneros Restaurants Inc. leased the former Old Rips restaurant, a 3,500-square-foot space located at the southeast corner of West Berry Street and Cockrell Avenue, just east of South University Drive, for a Los Vaqueros restaurant. This will be the second location for Los Vaqueros in Fort Worth and it is scheduled to open in early July. We are grateful for the opportunity to begin a new chapter in our 30-year history,” said Vicki Cisneros of Cisneros Restaurants Inc., in a news release. “This new venture would not be possible without the ongoing support from the TCU and Fort Worth community. With TCU entering the Big 12 Conference, the timing feels right. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and making new friends this fall. Tug Hill Real Estate Partners LP owns the restaurant property, which is located at 3105 Cockrell Ave. and valued at nearly $1.1 million in 2012 Tarrant Appraisal District records. Tug Hill Real Estate Partners is excited to lease this space to Los Vaqueros Restaurant, stated Kemper Cowden, associate at Tug Hill. This property was purchased based on its proximity to TCU and the strength of Los Vaqueros as a tenant.” Frank N. Bullock and Brad Gibbs with SRS Real Estate Partners represented the tenant, Cisneros Restaurants Inc., in the transaction.
