Lake Nona West is one of Orlando’s Most Anticipated Projects

From the moment Tavistock Development Co. announced plans for Lake Nona West — its new 405,100-square-foot lifestyle center to be built just west of Lake Nona Town Center — the project became one of the most anticipated in the region.

It has piqued the interest of residents of Lake Nona and its surrounding areas, eager for more shopping and dining options, as well as the interest of the region’s real estate players.

With an anticipated groundbreaking in 2024 and opening in fall 2025, attention has turned to what stores, restaurants and other concepts will populate the lifestyle center.

“From a consumer standpoint, what would be a great fit would be some more local, chef-driven restaurant concepts and high-end apparel and retail brands,” said Blake Hunter, a senior vice president and principal for the Orlando office of Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners, who is not involved with the project.

“On paper, while there has been a tremendous amount of residential growth in that market, the question is whether there is enough density. It’s just not clear yet if those Park Avenue-type tenants will be willing to pull the trigger without more of a retail mass.”

Hunter mentioned brands such as Lululemon and Vineyard Vines as the type that may be attracted to having a store in Lake Nona West if the nearby demographics are strong enough.
