Academy Ltd. purchased a 7-acre land parcel within the Highlands Plaza development in Flower Mound, officials with Venture Commercial said. The company plans to open a new Academy Sports and Outdoors in the center, at FM407 and Chinn Chapel Road across from the Shops at Highland Village.

Highlands Plaza is being developed by Dallas-based Hermansen Land Development Inc. A small shop and Academy Sports are under construction and will be completed this fall.

Easley Waggoner Jr. of Venture Commercial, along with Lee Loftis of SRS Real Estate Partners and Frank Bullock, represented the seller. Ken and Scott Espensen of Espensen Commercial Realty represented the buyer, the release stated.
