The University of Texas at Arlington is getting a bit more of the college town feel with the College Park development going in next to the school and the new College Park Center.
Five restaurants will be the first retail tenants of the 20-acre development with menus that should hit the center of the college palate: pizza, pita, pho and a sports grill.
The largest will be a new concept, MAVS Sports Grill, which will debut in 4,500 square feet of College Park’s Moritz Plaza retail space along with a pizza shop, a Vietnamese-style noodle house, a Mediterranean grill and a yogurt shop.
MAVS Sports Grill will serve the usual grill fare, including sliders, chicken tenders and sandwiches and have an average ticket price from $10 to $20.
Pie Five Pizza Co. will take 2,200 square feet and offer personalized pizza built in front of the diner and ready in five minutes.
The noodle shop, PhoExpress, will be operated by the MAVS Grill ownership group and take up 3,000 square feet. It will offer healthy food with an emphasis on quality ingredients at affordable prices.
GRIP Mediterranean Grill is a new fast-casual concept from the owners of the Terra Mediterranean Grill and Ali Baba restaurants. Its specialty will be 10-inch pita sandwiches.
Coolberry Frozen Yogurt will purvey 90 flavors of yogurt and 20 types of smoothie fruit drinks.
College Park will include dormitory space for about 600 students, a loft apartment complex development and the retail space wrapped around interior parking structures.
The development is rising south of UTA Boulevard between Pecan and Center streets. It is anchored by College Park Center to the south. SRS Real Estate Partners of Dallas is handling leasing.
