DSW, a national brand-name shoe retailer, leased about 42,231 square feet formerly occupied by Borders in the retail building at 400 Post St. in San Francisco, CA.
Delivered in 1919, the five-story structure totals 61,407 square feet in the Union Square shopping district. It sold most recently in 2007 to Ponte Gadea Group, according to CoStar information. The property is adjacent to Saks Fifth Avenue. Chase Bank, which also signed a lease recently, will soon join DSW to take the property to 100 percent occupancy.
