Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Houston, Texas
What’s your educational background?
The University of Georgia – BBA, Honors Finance
How long have you been in the industry and what drew you to commercial real estate?
I have been in the industry for 2 years. I like the “you make what you earn” aspect that a commission based job creates.
What is your market specialty and why did you decide to focus your talents on that specific market?
I do not think I really have a “market specialty” as of today. I spend about a third of my time on tenant representation, a third on landlord, and a third on disposition.
What has surprised you the most about the industry?
The amount of patience that is required. There are a lot of factors that come into play, and it takes time to get a deal closed. I was expecting it to be more like trading stocks when I first entered the business.
What has been your biggest challenge and struggle (besides the market) in commercial real estate?
The ability to determine how to prioritize time and how to manage client’s expectations. Another big challenge is convincing people that I am not in high school.
What’s the most memorable deal that you have done?
Verizon Wireless sub-lease at 635 & MacArthur. I represented CVS on the deal.
What do you do for fun when you’re not brokering or negotiating a real estate deal?
I like to be outdoors and play various sports. Playing outdoor basketball at the Hyer Elementary courts is a frequent fall and spring activity.
