Smyrna: Texas-based burger chain Grub Burger Bar is looking at national expansion, and its first locations beyond the borders of the Lone Star State will be in Philly and New Orleans, though Atlanta will be the first. While the menus for Grub's Texas locations all differ slightly, they all boast of buns baked fresh on the hour, and patties ground from brisket and chuck every morning. Also: boozy milkshakes, cocktails, draft beer and more. The restaurant sets up shop just inside the Perimeter on Cobb Parkway in the Akers Mill Shopping Center, with an aim of opening for business before the end of April (2955 Cobb Pkwy. SE, Suite 820).
Inman Park: Chef Jey Oh, of Marietta's Sushi Huku, brings rustic Japanese decor and contemporary Japanese cooking to Craft Izakaya, one of two new eateries announced for the Krog Street Market development. The 2,000-sq.-ft. restaurant will offer a full bar and traditional binchō-tan charcoal grill. The second spot just announced is a food stall and sit-down counter from the team behind Atlanta seafood purveyors Off the Dock Seafood; an announcement of name and chef should be coming soon. Krog Street Market plans to open in late July (96 Krog St.).
Sandy Springs: Perpetual-line-out-the-door Asheville, NC, restaurant Tupelo Honey Cafe (pictured above) will open a branch in the forthcoming Roswell Road 21-acre mixed-use development Sandy Springs Gateway. This will be the restaurant's first Georgia location, and the sixth outside of Asheville. Look for it in fall 2015.
