Velocity Retail Group negotiated a new 4,000 square foot store on behalf of Carter’s in the Gilbert Commons shopping center at the southwest corner of Baseline and Cooper Roads in Gilbert, Arizona.
The new store opened January 26th. This is the 8th Carter’s store in the Phoenix area. Dave Cheatham, Managing Principal of Velocity Retail has worked with the Carter’s team for over five years building their presence in Arizona and assisting in their expansion program. “Carter’s is an excellent addition to the shopping center with other complimentary tenants adjacent such as Justice for Girls, Kohl’s and Old Navy. This tenant mix creates a great cross-shopping experience,” said Cheatham.
“Dave and Darren at Velocity Retail are responsive to our needs and are able to identify exceptional locations for our new stores,” said Matt Lukas, Real Estate Manager for Carter’s, Inc. “Gilbert is a great trade area with favorable demographics and I believe we are in the best center from a co-tenancy perspective for this market,” he added.
Carter’s has over 400 stores across the country and is expanding every year. Velocity Retail represents Carter’s in both Arizona and New Mexico and works with Dawn Greiner at SRS Real Estate Partners who is Carter’s master broker.
