I am experimenting with a new service. When Publix recently opened their store at Town Brookhaven, I discovered Publix Curbside, an online service that allows you to place your grocery order from anywhere. (Toco Hills is the only other store in Atlanta offering this shopping assistance.) Publix associates put the order together, and you pick it up at a designated curbside area for a fee of $7.99.
So I just tested it. After setting up an account, I went through the merchandise lists and did what could actually be a week’s worth of grocery shopping. While it forced me to think ahead and plan meals, I actually liked the process. The next day I picked up it all up and felt pretty smart.
The service is easy to use. Now the question for me is do I have the discipline to be so organized on a regular basis. If I can eliminate those last minute mad dashes to the store because there is nothing in the refrigerator for dinner, my life would be much less frenetic.. Try it at www.Publix.com/Curbside
