ABC Fine Wine & Spirits owners buy Winter Park property

A property along West Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park has sold to an entity registered to the owners of Orlando-based ABC Fine Wine & Spirits.

This latest trade along West Fairbanks Avenue joins other recent sales in that corridor, including the 11-parcel portfolio sale that preceded it, the July sale of land at West Fairbanks Avenue and Clay Street to developer Verax Investments LLC and the August acquisition of the Linda’s Winter Park Diner property by a real estate company owned by Massey Services Inc. President and CEO Tony Massey, among others. The volume of recent transactions suggests further development and deals are the offing.

Blake Hunter, a senior vice president and principal in the Orlando office of Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners who has extensive experience doing tenant representation for national retail brands, told Orlando Business Journal the corridor has great potential, as well as some hurdles.

Hunter, who is not involved with the deal, said retail and restaurant brands view Winter Park as an important place to plant their flag.

“Winter Park, as a whole, is a top-3 or top-5 market for our clients,” Hunter explained. “Orlando Avenue is obviously very difficult and expensive to penetrate, so Fairbanks is kind of the next best thing. The challenge with West Fairbanks is the parcels are very small and it takes a larger assemblage to attract national tenants, as most of our guys want to be part of a larger project as opposed to just being by themselves.”
