Contracting
Structura Inc., a regional general contracting company, named R. Bruce Lowe operations manager. Lowe was chief operating officer of Scott Thomas Construction.
Financial services
Moody National Bank named Jeff Hutchens Central Texas area manager for commercial lending at its new Austin office. Michael Gifford was named vice president of commercial lending, and Amina Ahmed is the Central Texas regional branch manager. Hutchens was senior vice president of commercial lending for OmniBank North America. Gifford was with Moody National Bank’s Pasadena location. Ahmed was manager of the bank’s information technology data center in Pasadena.
PlainsCapital Bank, a Dallas-based regional bank, named Jon Levy president of its West Lake Hills location, Jason Thurman president of its Congress Avenue location and Shaun Tuggle president of its Round Rock location.
Real estate
The Stone Group, an Austin-based national real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, named Rick Miller vice president of corporate services. Miller was Americas real estate portfolio manager for Freescale Semiconductor Inc.
SRS Real Estate Partners, a Dallas-based national real estate firm, named Jason Middlebrook vice president of investment sales. Middlebrook was with Marcus & Millichap.
Technology
Luminex Corp., a developer of biological testing technologies, named Michael Pintek senior vice president of operations. Pintek was vice president and general manager of blood screening for Roche Molecular Systems.
Nonprofit organizations/professional honors
Brandy Nowlin was named to the board of directors of Keep Texas Beautiful. Nowlin is an account director for marketing firm Russell/
Shaw.
Kara Garst received the professional designate of the year award at the 2009 Paragon Awards from the National Apartment Association. Garst is a district property manager for UDR Inc. and president of the Austin Apartment Association.
The Community Association Institute Austin, which represents condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations, named Bill Brookspresident-elect and Kancy Smith chairwoman of the sponsorship and education and training committees. Brooks is vice president of Alliance Association Management. Smith is a community manager for Alliance Association Management.
