A new taste of Cuba is coming to Atlanta.
SRS Real Estate Partners announced Tampa, Florida-based Hemingway’s is slated to open in mixed-use development Krog Street Market in spring 2020.
“I have wanted to expand Hemingway’s for some time, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring our food to Atlanta,” said Felicia “Phe” Lacalle, the owner and chef for Hemingway’s. “As soon as you set foot in Krog Street Market, you can almost taste its infectious energy — and that’s what Hemingway’s is all about.”
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Hemingway’s second location will stick to the original restaurant’s menu with appetizers including chicharrones with Cuban fire water, tostones rellenos topped with spicy saffron aioli and Cuban Salchipapa, yucca fries piled with shredded pork, chicharrones, melted cheese, crispy onions, aioli duo and cilantro.
Main dishes will include sandwiches such as the traditional La Frita Cubana, El Ultimo, a palomilla steak sandwich and Cuban sandwiches as well as customizable BYO-Cuban bowls with fillings including ropa vieja, picadillo, garlic and lime sautéed green beans, cilantro white rice, mojo quinoa and black beans among others.
On the sweeter side, desserts will include Chef Phe’s Abuela’s Tres Leches cake and guava and cream cheese empanadas with dulce de leche dipping sauce.
Wash everything down with a sangria bar featuring a rotating lineup of homemade blends.
Hemingway’s will join more than a dozen other food and beverage concepts at Krog Street Market including Superica, Ticonderoga Club, Yalla, Fred’s Meat & Breads, Suzy Siu’s Baos and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams.
Hemingway’s opened its Florida location in February 2017.
