Staubach Retail Services unveils new name

Austin Business Journal –

Staubach Retail Services has changed its name to SRS Real Estate Partners in a move aimed at clearing up potential confusion with the business Staubach sold last year.

The 22-year-old Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners will continue to focus on representation of retail real estate clients. Founder Roger Staubach will remain on the SRS Real Estate Partners board and will remain an equity holder in the firm.

The company’s Austin office launched in 2003 and now has 11 brokers and staff.

Last June, Staubach sold real estate service firm The Staubach Co. to Jones Lang LaSalle, but Staubach Retail, now SRS, remained an independent firm.

SRS Real Estate Partners President Clay Smith, will be promoted to CEO/President. Staubach Retail Services former CEO, Chris Maguire, will continue to serve on the SRS Real Estate Partners Board of Directors and will be an equity holder in the firm. Maguire will remain CEO of Cypress Equities a development business previously affiliated with the other Staubach businesses.

SRS Real Estate Partners will continue its relationship with Cypress Equities.

“We are proud of our heritage and legacy, but now is the time to define ourselves as a separate real estate firm.” Smith said. “This is a mature company that is positioning itself for growth when the economy and real estate market rebound.”
