CHICAGO (April 17, 2017) – SRS Real Estate Partners’ Chicago office announced the launch of restaurant leasing at Arlington Downs, the entertainment-driven mixed-use development at IL-53 and Euclid Avenue, adjacent to Arlington International Racecourse.
The developer, Springbank Real Estate Group, is finalizing deals for a 10-screen Cinepolis luxury movie theater and a First Ascent Climbing & Fitness Facility at the Arlington Heights development, which currently includes One Arlington luxury apartments and a 100 key limited service hotel.
This next phase of the development includes restaurant and retail pad sites ranging from 2,500 to 10,000 square feet. “With residential and entertainment anchors in place, we are now seeking restaurants to round out the customer experience,” said Kevin Boyd, Senior Vice President at SRS. “Arlington Downs guests will come for the entertainment and stay for dinner or drinks.”
It’s this entertainment-driven model which many real estate experts predict will shape future retail developments. “It’s all about the experience now,” said David M. Trandel, CEO of Springbank. “The big-box days are gone. It used to be that theaters could piggyback off the department stores. Now it’s theaters and experiences that are bringing in the traffic.” Traffic generators also include the five state-of-the-art turf athletic fields for soccer and lacrosse immediately to the east of Arlington Downs and west of Arlington International Racecourse.
