SRS Real Estate Partners is pleased to welcome Carol Spann Joyner as vice president in the Atlanta office. A 25-year industry veteran, she is joining the tenant representation team and will focus on multi-market expansion programs for retailers. Carol joins SRS with experience in the brokerage, retailer, and landlord sides of the industry. An expert in negotiating leases and executing strategies, she has proven expertise providing strategic guidance of national expansion plans. Carol joins SRS from her own company, Joyner Retail Services, whose mission was to assist both retailers and landlords refine and execute their growth plans. Prior to that, Carol worked with GGP as vice president of leasing for the Southeast region where she oversaw leasing activities in GGP’s super regional malls located in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. She also led a team in creating strategic plans for all centers in the region, with a focus on alternative uses, keeping those centers relevant and able to thrive in the changing world of brick-and-mortar retail. In addition, Carol served as vice president for Edens where she oversaw leasing activities for power centers, open air centers, and community centers throughout Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida.
As a retailer, Carol has held national leadership positions with Gap, Inc., and Teavana. As vice president with Gap Inc., she oversaw one-third of the U.S. and three regional offices, and was responsible for the execution of development plans for Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy brands. While with Teavana as vice president of real estate, she oversaw leasing and construction growth nationally and internationally, including Canada and the Middle East.
Carol has an MBA from the University of Georgia and a B.S. from Wake Forest University. She is a member of ICSC, where she holds the CRX and SCLS designations. She volunteers with Jack and Jill of America, Inc., an organization of mothers with children ages 2 – 19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders. She is also a volunteer with The Pajama Program, an on-the-ground resource for information about children’s happiness, motivation, and well-being, as it relates to bedtime and sleep.
