Dallas-based retail real estate company SRS Real Estate Partners has launched a new office in Boston.
The branch will provide SRS a hub for its activity throughout New England and complement the firm's offices in New York as the company looks to expand its service lines along the East Coast.
Selected to lead the new office is Jonathan Lapat, a former principal with Strategic Retail Advisors who joins SRS as managing principal and market leader.
Lapat helped launch Strategic Retail Advisors, a retail real estate consulting and brokerage firm, in 2001. There he specialized in tenant representation in the Northeast.
The 22-year industry got his start with Trammell Crow Co. where he helped target small space and developing service station options for Mobil Oil Corp. Past clients of his include Charming Charlie, AMC Theatres, Carter's, Gap, Inc., Jos. A. Bank, ULTA Beauty, Chico's, Banana Republic, Victoria's Secret, White House Black Market, Payless ShoeSource, F21 Red, Athleta and Bath & Body Works.
Lapat is an active member of ICSC and formerly served as president for X Team International, an integrated network of retail specialists throughout the United States and Canada.
